Criminal defense with a commercial-law background
Christian Hermanussen has been admitted to the bar since 2014. Before becoming a criminal defense lawyer, he spent several years at internationally oriented law firms, including Watson Farley & Williams, CMS Hasche Sigle and Hogan Lovells in Hamburg.
His work there focused in particular on banking and commercial law as well as project finance. This commercial-law experience now provides an important foundation for his defense work in complex white-collar criminal proceedings.
After studying law in Leipzig, Christian Hermanussen completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
At the end of 2021, he decided to leave commercial law and devote his practice entirely to criminal defense. He has been self-employed since 2022 and, since 2023, has been a partner at Plan B | Die Fachanwaltskanzlei in Hamburg together with Andreas Beurskens, Robert A. Funk and Friedrich Oberschilp.
